Parents and Citizens (P&C)

At East Butler Primary School, we recognise the importance of parents as partners. Our P&C welcomes all parents, carers and community members to our wonderful primary school.

What is a P&C?

A broad but concise definition of a P&C Association as spelt out by WACSSO (The Western Australian Council of State Schools Organisation), the “parent” body with which most P&C Associations (including ours) are affiliated, is summarised as follows: –

“A Parents and Citizens Association is comprised of the parents, teachers and other interested citizens who have a common interest in promoting the education of our children. It helps to bring about communication and cooperation between students, teachers and parents and works to foster community interest in educational matters. It provides extra facilities and amenities for the school and works to provide a pleasant environment in which our children can gain the most benefit from their education.”

How to get involved

All parents/carers and members of the local community are welcome to attend our monthly P&C Meetings and are invited to get involved with our P&C Committee. It’s a fantastic way to make new friends and, with your help, we can make this a wonderful year for our children. Check the Term Planner or our Facebook Page for upcoming P&C Meeting dates.

Membership to join the P&C costs a gold coin donation per annum and forms can be obtained from the P&C President or Secretary.

NOTE: All roles in the P&C are voluntary and therefore people are only expected to do what they can afford in time in any position they hold.
